Who are we and why?
#DataWeekender is organised by a group of Microsoft data platform professionals who are active contributors to the Microsoft Data Community. Between us, we regularly speak at events, write and blog, organise conferences, and run local user groups.

The event began during the Covid-19 lockdowns as a way to keep the community connected, learning, and sharing knowledge. What started as a necessity quickly became something more valuable - an inclusive, accessible event that brings people together around real-world data challenges, regardless of location.

Today, #DataWeekender continues because the need hasn’t gone away. It exists to give the community a platform to share ideas, learn from each other, and stay connected — whether you’re a first-time speaker, a seasoned professional, or simply curious about the Microsoft data platform.
